How to Pray the Rosary

Praying the Rosary involves a structured pattern of prayers, guided by a set of mysteries representing different moments in the life of Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Here is a step-by-step guide to aid you in praying the Rosary:

1. Begin with the Sign of the Cross

Make the sign of the cross as a symbol of our faith in the Holy Trinity and to express our desire to unite ourselves with the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.

2. Recite the Apostles' Creed

Recite the Apostles' Creed, affirming our belief in the teachings of the Catholic Church and our commitment to the Christian faith.

3. Pray the Our Father

Recite the Lord's Prayer, also known as the Our Father, acknowledging God as our Heavenly Father and seeking His guidance and provision.

4. Pray the Hail Mary

Recite the Hail Mary, honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary and seeking her intercession as the Mother of God.

5. Pray the Glory Be to the Father

Recite the Glory Be to the Father, glorifying and praising the Holy Trinity—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

6. Meditate on the Mysteries

Reflect upon the mysteries associated with the particular day or set of mysteries you are praying, such as the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, or Luminous Mysteries.

7. Recite the Hail Mary (10 times)

Each decade of the Rosary consists of ten Hail Mary prayers. While praying each Hail Mary, meditate on the corresponding mystery, allowing its significance to resonate within you.

8. Pray the Glory Be to the Father and the Fatima Prayer

Conclude each decade by reciting the Glory Be to the Father and the Fatima Prayer, which emphasizes the importance of prayer, especially the Rosary.

9. Repeat Steps 6-8 for Each Decade

Continue meditating on each set of mysteries, reciting the Hail Marys and concluding with the Glory Be to the Father and the Fatima Prayer until you have completed all five decades of the Rosary.

10. Conclude with the Hail Holy Queen and the Sign of the Cross

Finish by reciting the Hail Holy Queen, a prayer seeking the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and conclude with the Sign of the Cross.
