Our Core Beliefs
At Lima First Assembly of God, our beliefs are rooted in the teachings of the Bible. We embrace the following core principles:
1. The Trinity
We believe in the triune nature of God, consisting of God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. This belief recognizes the unity and yet distinctiveness of the three persons of the Godhead, working together in perfect harmony.
2. The Authority of Scripture
We affirm the Bible as the inspired and infallible Word of God. It serves as our ultimate authority and guide in matters of faith, life, and doctrine. We believe in the importance of studying and applying the teachings of Scripture in our daily lives.
3. Salvation through Jesus Christ
We believe in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, who through His death and resurrection, offers forgiveness of sins and eternal life to all who repent and place their trust in Him. Salvation is a free gift of God's grace and cannot be earned through our own efforts.
4. Baptism in the Holy Spirit
We embrace the biblical teaching that every believer can experience the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, as a distinct experience subsequent to salvation. This empowering experience equips believers with spiritual gifts and empowers them for effective service and witness.
5. Divine Healing
We believe in the power of divine healing through faith in Jesus Christ. Physical, emotional, and spiritual healing are available to all who seek God's intervention and believe in His ability to restore and make whole.
6. The Second Coming of Christ
We anticipate the glorious return of Jesus Christ, who will gather His followers and establish His eternal kingdom. This hope gives us purpose and encourages us to live with anticipation and readiness.
